Adams Tight Lies

Adams Golf has refined its legendary Tight Lies fairway wood and re-introduced the product to the market.

It will be launched initially as a 16-degree 3-wood with other loft options available later.

The original Tight Lies fairway wood was a huge success for Adams back in the mid-90s, and the updated model retains many of the same design elements whilst incorporating brand new technology. Velocity Slot Technology in the form of Cut-Thru Slots makes the face twice as hot for increased ball speeds, the Low-Profile Upside Down design allows for a low centre of gravity (CG) and the Tri-Sole design facilitates playability from any lie.

"In the ever-present pursuit of maximum distance, today's fairway woods have become mini-drivers - extremely difficult to hit from anywhere other than from a tee," said Justin Honea, Director of R&D.

"The low profile design places the GC below the CG of the ball, making it easy to hit the ball in the ear. The unique tri-sole design makes it easy to hit from a multitude of challenging lies and then we added a refined Cut-Thru Slot design so this new Tight Lies is twice as hot as the original.

"It's the perfect blend of playability and performance."

The Cut-Thru Slots in the crown and sole create maximum face deflection and the sole design reduces turf interaction to increase performance from all lies. Tom Watson, the eight-time major champion, added: "With the new Tight Lies, we've got a 3-wood that you can control, you can hit it out of bad lies... that's what you want in a golf club."

Tight Lies fairway woods will be available to purchase from September 1. The regular version - with a Bassara Eagle graphite abaft - comes in 14, 16 and 19 degree loft options, and retails at £149.00.

The Tight Lies Tour fairway wood - with a Aldila Tour Blue shaft - is available in 14.5 degrees and will retail at £189.99.
