Ping has released the Nome TR putter with variable-depth grooves milled directly into the face - an industry first innovation for unmatched distance control.
The new model also offers a bold alignment feature enhancing the ease of which to aim the mallet-style head.
The new technology encompasses the idea of deep grooves at the centre of the putter head, shallowing out toward the perimeter.
Ping Nome TR technology produces a truer strike and will deliver consistent ball speeds, whether the ball is struck in the centre of the face or toward the heel or toe.
Research suggests that there is a 50% improvement in ball-speed constancy when measured across nine points of the putter face.
John A. Solheim, Ping Chairman and CEO, said: "Variable-depth grooves have caught on exceptionally well with the average golfer and with many Ping touring professionals. Angel Cabrera finished second at Augusta using the new technology and four Ping professionals have claimed titles in the last month."
The 350-gram Ping Nome TR has a matte-black finish and a white alignment bar and contrasting black sight line to improve accuracy. It is made from high-grade aircraft aluminium and has a high MOI for extra forgiveness.
As part of Ping's Fit for Stroke system, there are three different shaft bends available to suit straight, slight arc or strong arc putting strokes.
Golfers can select a fixed-length shaft or upgrade to a telescoping USGA/R&A-conforming adjustable shaft that can adapt between 31 and 38 inches.
The RRP is £239 for a fixed-shaft which comes as standard, and golfers can upgrade to the adjustable-length for an extra £20.
