Mizuno MX-500
A sleek, attractive looking head is spoiled slightly by a somewhat cheap looking shaft.
Mizuno MX-500 RRP £199(g)
Design and Tech Benefits A sleek, attractive looking head is spoiled slightly by a somewhat cheap looking shaft. The MX-500 addresses the tendency to push shots with the biggest clubheads courtesy of a graphite toe-insert that moves 8g of weight from toe to heel to help square the face. The graphite crown allows 30g of weight lower and deeper to promote a higher, longer flight.
GM VERDICT Producing impressive distance and a penetrating ball flight, the MX-500 is a solid club that delivers consistent results. With the extra toe weighting there are less instances of blocks and cuts. The MX-500 is a very good all-rounder, accurate and forgiving. It also achieves relatively good distance. It's a solid choice for the average golfer.
