Sonartec SS 2.5
If you're looking for raw distance from a fairway club look no further.
Sonartec SS 2.5 £215(g)
Design and Tech Benefits An ST-385 alloy face is designed to increase ball velocity at impact for greater distance. Improved perimeter weighting over previous models should make it easier to get the ball airborne. The centre of gravity is positioned to help generate a penetrating ball flight.
Specs Available in 13, 14, 15, 17, 19 and 21 degree models.
GM Verdict It sits nicely but looks like a wood designed for better players. Its appearance is understated, sleek and dark. Not as forgiving as some of its competitors but it does produce great distance. The head sits nice and square and accuracy levels are high. Sounds solid and feels solid when struck purely. One of the longest fairway woods on the market this could be used as a driving club. It?s quite heavy and delivers solid, accurate strikes.
