New TaylorMade r7 Limited Driver

We caught up with TaylorMade Staff Professional Sergio Garcia last month and asked the Spaniard, “What’s in the bag?”

Here’s Garcia’s response:

DRIVER I’ve switched to TaylorMade’s new Tour Burner TP this year with 8.5˚ of loft and a Mitsubishi Diamana X-flex shaft. I’m always looking to take advantage of cutting-edge technology. It’s a few yards longer than my SuperQuad.

3 AND 5-WOODS My 3-wood is a 14.5˚ TaylorMade Burner and my 5-wood is a 17.5˚ r7 TP Fairway. I’m not worried about them not being the same model as I like the flight, control and shot-shaping capability both give me.

IRONS 3-PW These rac MB TP irons have been in my bag since TaylorMade introduced them about five years ago I think. I carry from 3-PW and use a Project X 6.5 shaft.

WEDGES I carry the TaylorMade rac Satin in 54˚ and either 58˚ or 64˚ lofts. I’ve had the 64˚ model since June. The leading edges are ground to my liking, and I also grind a bit off the hosel. There are only minor differences in bounce between all three.

PUTTER I’m currently using a Titleist Scotty Cameron Prototype on Tour, but I am still experimenting with the Rossa Monza Spider, which I had in the bag for some of the early-season events.

BALL I was involved in TaylorMade’s ball development. I’m a high-spin ball player and prefer the TP Red LDP. It’s perfect for me, and the best wind ball I’ve ever used.
