Golf Course Rankings Confirm Abu Dhabi as Top Middle East Golf Destination
Three of Abu Dhabi’s acclaimed championship golf courses have dominated Golf Digest’s Middle East regional golf course rankings.
Yas Links became the first golf course to secure the award double by winning the vote of Golf Digest’s experts panel and its readers.
Yas Links, designed by Kyle Phillips, first joined the rankings in 2011 and boasts one of the game’s most spectacular finishing stretches, sitting opposite the Yas Marina F1 race track, the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi theme park and sits next to Yas Waterworld.
“We have an extra special golf course and are committed to delivering world-class course conditioning alongside a truly memorable guest experience. To have such categorical support and acknowledgement from such a respected panel of industry experts gives us great motivation moving into 2014,” said Yas Links General Manager Chris White.
In addition, Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club were both ranked in the top four in the ‘Reader’s Poll’ reiterating the appeal that each holds with Middle East golfers.
The Golf Digest Middle East course rankings list is split into ‘Expert panellists’ and ‘Reader’s Poll’ sections.
Panellists are leading figures of the golf industry and tour professionals that assess courses based on shot values, design variety, and other aspects.
“Each course in Abu Dhabi has its own unique qualities, with both our panel and readers unanimous in their praise across all of Golf Digest’s criteria. Yas Links has become a genuine trophy course that sits at the top of people’s ‘must-play’ list,” said Golf Digest Editor in Chief Robbie Greenfield.
