ECCO Cage Evo shoe revealed

A unique outsole design promises more protection and a better fit

The new ECCO Cage Evo shoe has been unveiled, a model that uses a special webbing to create a better fit and provide extra protection from the elements

Ecco may be known for its stylish spikeless shoes, like the Casual Hybrid model , but with the new Cage Evo shoe it has stepped outside the box to create something very different.

Its new cleated model takes the fully-integrated Direct-Injection Process wrap design from last year’s Ecco Cage model (see our video review below) - a system that sees heel-to-toe support increase stability – and combines it with a new distinctive upper that features a performance, PU-structured textile bonded with polyurethane webbing.

This webbing provides an anatomical outsole that aligns and moves in unison with the foot's essential muscles and ligaments for increased flexibility and comfort. The lightweight and eye-catching upper is also exceptionally water-repellent thanks to Ecco’s Hydromax treatment.

Returning from the Ecco Cage alongside the DIP wrap is Ecco’s Freedom Fit, which combines a snug heel with a roomier forefoot that allows your toes to move more naturally, plus low-profile Champ Slim-Lok cleats that increase grip.

“With the original ECCO CAGE having been so well-received internationally, we’re extremely excited about the introduction of this lightweight and eye-catching addition to our cleated family,” says Michael Waack, Head of Global Golf at ECCO.

With the Cage Evo (RRP £160) you’ll also find an integrated shank that matches the foot’s natural shape for a better fit, plus a removable inlay sole so you can customise the width on offer.
