Most consecutive US Open titles: 3, by Willie Anderson (1903-1905); 2, by John McDermott (1911-12), Bobby Jones (1929-30), Ralph Gudahl (1937-38), Ben Hogan (1950-51) and Curtis Strange (1988-89)

Longest streaks without a British winner: 65 years (Willie Macfarlane in 1925 to Tony Jacklin in 1970); 40 years (Tony Jacklin in 1970 to the present day)

Longest streak without a continental Europe winner: 115 years (Not one winner since US Open foundation in 1895)

Longest streak without a US winner (since World War 1):  4 years (Retief Goosen of South Africa in 2004, Michael Campbell of New Zealand in 2005, Geoff Ogilvy of Australia in 2006 and Angel Cabrera of Argentina in 2007)

Longest course to have hosted the US Open: Torrey Pines in 2008, at 7,643 yards

Shortest course to have hosted the US Open: Shinnecock Hills in 1896, at 4,423 yards

Longest hole featured in the US Open: 12th at Oakmont, at 667 yards (2007)

Shortest hole featured in the US Open: 7th at Pebble Beach, at 106 yards (2000)

Longest difference in distance between two holes at the 2010 US Open: 471 yards, the difference between the 580-yard 14th hole and the 109-yard 7th hole
