Wiltshire s Portia Abbott has become the third English player to win on the US women s college circuit since the start of the autumn season.
Portia, from Kingsdown Golf Club, claimed the first win of her college career when she finished three shots ahead of her closest challenger in the Fred Marx Invitational hosted by the University of Louisiana-Monroe.
The fourth-year student at Jacksonville State University had steady rounds of 71, 74, 73 to finish on two-over par.
The Jacksonville State team finished third overall and also included another English student, Laura Cutler of Warley Park in Essex.
Other wins on the US college circuit have been recorded in the autumn season by English strokeplay champion Jodi Ewart of Catterick in Yorkshire, and Olivia Jordan-Higgins of Royal Jersey.
