2016 Scotty Cameron Select Putters

Choosing your putter is a very personal affair, and that’s why the new line of Scotty Cameron putters are among the sexiest and best feeling models yet.

Central to the new Select line are new wrap around face inlays made with materials to suit the blade or mallet they sit in.

The wrap around inlay approach differs from traditional face inserts, which occupy only the centre section of the face. The benefit of this is that any strikes that would normally miss the insert will now not be affected, for smooth rolls and more consistent distance control.

The Newport blades – compromising the classic heel-and-toe weighted Select Newport, the low-slung modern heel-and-toe weighted Select Newport 2 and the  the Select Newport 2.5,  a modern blade with longer Newport 2 profile – each feature sole-to-topline 303 stainless steel inlays that are precision milled.

These inlays are then bonded to the stainless steel bodies using high-tech vibration dampening material for a responsive feel and feedback at impact.

The new Select Newport 2 Notchback is a slightly larger, angular blade with an aircraft grade aluminium inlay anodized in gunmetal grey. This lightweight inlay also enhances sound and feel, while moving more weight from the stainless steel to the perimeter for improved stability.

There are also two new mid-mallets in the Select Newport M1 and Newport M2, which combine the same aluminium inlay with pop-through alignment technology.

A new Select Newport 2 Notchback Dual Balance model is also available for those players who need maximum stability in their stroke. Like other Scotty Cameron Dual Balance models, it has 50g heavier head and a 50g counterweight in the butt of the shaft.

Each new putters features two customisable stainless steel heel-toe weights, a stepless steel shaft and a Red Matador mid-size grip.

Explaining the new design, Master Craftsman Scotty Cameron told GM: “I’ve worked with this insert ideas for years. This is the culmination of my research, the various inlays we’ve developed for this new line. The result is a better look, a better sound and a better feel.

“While performance is always the end goal, I first design for aesthetics. Initially, a design has to appeal to the eye. But, when you examine the components, you can appreciate the technology that goes into creating these amazing new putters.”

The putters are available worldwide from April 8th and have an SRP of £320.
