An exclusive and limited edition 2012 Ryder Cup golf clothing box set has been launched in tribute to the legendary Seve Ballesteros and to help raise vital funds for the Seve Ballesteros Foundation, in partnership with Cancer Research UK.
Inspired by the homage paid to Seve by the entire European Team, the box sets comprise of a shirt and sweater combination in Seve’s iconic blue and white Sunday colours. The clothes will not only feature the official 2012 Ryder Cup match shield embroidered on the chest, but will have the unique ‘Seve Tribute’ embroidery on the left arm as well.
The ‘Seve Tribute’ embroidery incorporates the Spaniard’s trademark silhouette of his celebration at the 1984 Open Championship, his name, the years he lived and five stars representing each of his Major Championship victories. It is identical to the embroidery worn by the 2012 European team.
The unique box sets are priced at £150 each, with £60 from the sale of each set going directly to the Seve Ballesteros Foundation. With the generous support of Ryder Cup fans, driven by Ryder Cup Europe, it is hoped that the box set will raise in excess of £120,000 to help fund brain cancer research.
The 2012 sequentially numbered limited edition box sets – in recognition of the year of the match – have been supplied by Glenmuir and Kitbag on a not-for-profit basis.
Box sets are available from the Official European Ryder Cup Online Store.
