The Elea Golf Club, Paphos, designed by six-time Major winner Sir Nick Faldo, will be opened in autumn as one of the most important European golf courses of recent times.

Faldo Design was launched in 1996 and has more than 50 projects in every corner of the globe, sprouting into one of the leading golf course design companies in the industry.

The par-71 golf course will be amidst the Elea Estate, comprised of luxurious villas and apartments, a boutique hotel and extensive spa facilities.

Sir Nick Faldo commented: “When we designed the golf course we decided to put the emphasis on thoughtful, rather than big-hitting golf and there are plenty of strategic riddles for the golfer to explore and unravel over all 18 holes.”

A full length driving range complete with target greens and bunkers, a short game practice area and a stunning putting green are boasted, overlooking the entire estate.

Ross Robertson, director of golf operations at the Elea Golf Club, said: “We want to deliver a golf experience where our guests can feel the spirit of the game as soon as they drive through the gates.”

Although Elea Golf Club will attract visitors from across Europe and beyond, the management team are also developing a club-style atmosphere for the residents of Cyprus.
