Nike will give golfers in the West Midlands the chance to try brand's latest equipment in a series of 'Speed Trials' held at The Belfry later this month.

Those taking part will sample clubs used by Nike Golf Tour staff athletes, such as Paul Casey, Charl Schwartzel and Simon Dyson.

Staged on August 2 and 9 from 6-9pm in the Belfry's PGA National Golf Academy, Nike Golf's VR-S 'Speed Trials' will allow golfers to compare the speed of their current clubs with new Nike VR-S products on an in-store launch monitor.

The accumulative distance of their shots hit with the driver, fairway wood and hybrid will be recorded. A subsequent 'Speeding Ticket' will be issued, detailing respective yardage and distance gained against their own equipment.

Nike Golf's 'Speed Trials' have achieved more than 250,000 yards since the beginning of this season, and the Belfry recently reported a 10% increase in the booking of custom-fit sessions.

"This is a superb opportunity for golfers in the West Midlands to try out the very latest equipment and see first hand how the clubs can add distance to their game," said Gary Silcock, The Belfry's Director of Golf.

"We're very pleased one of the biggest manufacturers in world golf has chosen to stage these trials at the Belfry."
