Celtic Manor has installed a state-of-the-art golf simulator which will allow customers to play some of the world's top courses at the luxury resort in South Wales.

The new GolfZon simulator in the Golf Academy will give golfers the opportunity to face legendary courses such as The Old Course at St. Andrews, Pebble Beach and Bay Hill without incurring the crippling travel fees.

Golfers will hit real balls with real clubs into a large screen depicting images of the hole they are playing. Their shot will be measured by it's speed and trajectory, giving them an indication as to how they'd fare in major competitive environments.

Celtic Manor resort has become revered since it's staging of the 2010 Ryder Cup and offers a range of challenging courses including one designed by Colin Montgomerie.

The Ryder Cup competition, however, was blighted by heavy rainfall, which will not be an issue for the people wishing to use the GolfZon simulator. But they won't escape the complexities of differing terrain due to the innovative moving floor technology.

Golfers will need to adjust to tee, fairway, green, rough and even bunker lies when hitting from the synthetic mat surface.

The simulator is available to book at hourly rates from 8am and 8pm and will be great for corporate golf days. Those seeking more information should call 01633 410312.
