Chart Hills helps our heroes

Chart Hills Golf Club has helped to raise more than £10,000 for wounded war veterans in its first Help for Heroes golf day

The golf day in July consisted of 18 holes of golf on the Nick Faldo-designed championship course, a four-course dinner, raffle and auction in the evening.

Guests were also treated to a special video which highlighted the great work carried out at Hedley Court the main rehabilitation centre used by Help for Heroes for wounded soldiers.

Steve Craddock, a representative of Help for Heroes, said: Chart Hills proved a perfect venue for the Help for Heroes golf day.

We were delighted with the total amount raised and we have already booked the venue again for next year s event.

David Colyer, general manager of Chart Hills, said: Chart Hills is very proud to be associated with Help for Heroes.

To have raised more than £10,000 is a big achievement and we are thrilled that it is going to a very worthy cause.

We are also delighted to announce that Help for Heroes will continue to use Chart Hills as the official venue for its golf days in the region next year.

In less than a year Help for Heroes has raised more than £8m for servicemen and women in the UK and received the backing of a host of famous faces including Prince Harry, David Beckham and Jeremy Clarkson.

Next year s event will be held on April 30, 2009. For more information call the director of golf, James Cornish, or sales manager, Sarah Saunders on 01580 292 222.
