Darren Clarke looks to raise money for breast cancer research
Darren Clarke is teaming up with the Breast Cancer Campaign for the £100 Golf Club Challenge. The organization is looking to raise £1,000,000 for breast cancer research from this year's events
Darren Clarke is taking charge in the fight against breast cancer by joining the Breast Cancer Campaign's £100 Golf Club Challenge.
As the £100 Golf Club Challenge ambassador, the Ulsterman will promote golf related fundraisers designed to raise £100 or more in an attempt to raise £1,000,000 this year.
So far, the Breast Cancer Campaign has raised £750,000 in the last seven years. To ensure this year's goal, Clarke is asking golf clubs around the UK to help this cause by hosting pink-themed golf tournaments and raffles.
"I have been personally affected by breast cancer and that's why I became an active ambassador for Breast Cancer Campaign to encourage as many golf clubs as possible to support the charity by signing up to its £100 Challenge," he said.
Although the challenge is set at £100, there are varying fundraising levels for people who raise money. These levels, Silver level (£500), Gold level (£1,000), and Pink level (£2,500) will help the Breast Cancer Campaign as it tries to fund research that will lead to better diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and cures for this disease.
