Ian Poulter led his team to victory in a Pro-Celebrity event at The Vines Golf Resort, near Perth, Australia on Tuesday. The 9-hole competition was arranged in order to raise money for the Victorian Bushfires Red Cross appeal, which is supporting the 7,500 people left homeless by the fires.

Greg Norman, Colin Montgomerie, Paul Casey, Anthony Kim and Camilo Villegas joined Poulter in a field including Australian sport stars such as Justin Langer and Matt Burke. The Johnnie Walker master of blending, Gordon Bell, completed the line up.

The organisers asked the public to donate a minimum of $5 for every car parked at The Vines and a silent auction, including one of Poulter’s lively outfits, was held afterwards on the 18th green. These donations are on top of the $100,000 Johnnie Walker has already donated to Cricket Australia’s Bushfires Appeal.

Poulter’s team consisted of AFL Hall of Famers Robert DiPierdomenico, Glen Jakovich and Peter Matera and the win will surely give him some confidence heading into the Johnnie Walker Classic, which begins at The Vines on Thursday.
