Skechers provides official shoe for the Volvo World Match Play Championship

Skechers GO GOLF has been unveiled as the official shoe of the 2014 Volvo World Match Play Championship, held at the London Golf Club in Kent later this month.

To celebrate the announcement, Skechers Performance Division is offering customers who purchase a pair of GO GOLF shoes before the start of the tournament on October 15 one free ticket to the event.*

The sponsorship will feature Skechers GO GOLF branding throughout the course as well as an on-site brand experience in the tented village area where visitors can purchase Skechers products.

Peter Youell, managing director of Skechers UK, said: “With the event coming to the London Golf Club for this season, it gives us a chance to show European golfers that we are serious about our innovative golf footwear. The Skechers Performance Division has revolutionised the running shoe market and we believe it won’t be too long before golfers view our footwear in the same fashion.”

Ross Hallett, IMG tournament director, added: “The Skechers Performance Division brand experience will be a fantastic addition to our spectator village while the Championship provides a great platform for Skechers to showcase their fantastic products in the UK golf market.”

Skechers Performance Division launched the GO GOLF footwear line in the UK in early 2014 and announced the signing of Matt Kuchar as the global brand ambassador.

The current Skechers GO GOLF line features performance innovations found in the Skechers GOrun platform and offers three new designs – Skechers GO GOLF Bionic, Skechers GO GOLF and Skechers GO GOLF Drive.
