Alstom Open de France golf betting guide

Golf Monthly's betting guide for the Alstom Open de France and details of how to claim £30 in free bets

Robert Rock

With the Open Championship just around the corner, a strong field has gathered for the Alstom Open de France. Picking a winner is no easy this week although Martin Kaymer at 10/1 is a good shout. He's been a little quiet lately, too quiet for a man of his talent and we'd not be surprised to see him come out on top on Sunday. A small win only on Kaymer is our first bet.

With home support, the next man on our betting slip is Gregory Bourdy. He was only four off the pace here last year and will know the course well. Odds of 25/1 aren't amazing but he's shown decent enough form lately, finishing second at the Saab Wales Open and he's a three-time European Tour winner.

Bubba Watson did get our attention at 16/1, although we're yet to see the best of the American in Europe and others are preferred this week.

Our final bet is reserved for a man who finally made his breakthrough in Italy, Robert Rock. He followed his maiden win with a confident display at the US Open and who's to say this might not be the beginning of something special for the Englishman. Often all it takes is that first win and at 40/1 we think he's good value for some each-way returns.
