Get the latest odds and tips ahead of this week's Australian Open where Adam Scott is the pre-tournament favourite

Tiger Woods

With the Presidents Cup around the corner, the Americans are in town for this year's Australian Open where Adam Scott starts as tournament

favourite at 8/1.

With all the furore surrounding Scott and his caddie at the moment I think it could prove to be a big distraction for the Aussie so I won't be backing him, despite his obvious claims.

I think the winner is likely to come from within the ranks off the US team for Royal Melbourne next weekend and there are a group of players that interest me.

Dustin Johnson and Hunter Mahan both look good bets at

16/1, while Matt Kuchar at

20/1 is always a solid each-way bet due to his consistency.

It would be rude of me not to mention a certain Tiger Woods this week as he is at

10/1. If Woods can win this week, you won't see him start a tournament at that kind of price for a long time. He has certainly been talking his game up of late and putting in the hours on the course.

Should Woods win on his comeback, Ladbrokes will pay out on runner-up bets.

As for Australian hopes, Jason Day is at

10/1 while defending champion Geoff Ogilvy is a

16/1 shot. Former winners of the event, Aaron Baddeley, John Senden and Robert Allenby are all at

20/1.
