BMW Masters golf betting guide
The European Tour heads to China this week for the BMW Championship, the first event of the inaugural Finals Series.
Some $30m dollars will be up for grabs over the next four tournaments, so it’s no surprise to see that such a strong field has assembled at Lake Malaren.
Defending champion Peter Hanson is joined by the likes of Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Graeme McDowell and current Race to Dubai points leader Henrik Stenson.
McIlroy and Stenson are the 8/1 favourites with Ladbrokes, and whilst those odds aren’t particularly favourable, I think McIlroy is ready to win.
He came second at the BMW Masters last year and second in Korea last week, he’s fresh after a month off and his record in Asia is very good.
Bernd Wiesberger, at 20/1 with Ladbrokes, is one of the form players in the field. He finished 23rd at the Italian Open, 12th at the Alfred Dunhill and third two weeks ago at the Portugal Masters, where only a poor approach to the 71st hole cost him a chance of victory.
Jamie Donaldson, at 33/1 with Ladbrokes, is ready to win again. He played some good golf at the Seve Trophy, came close two weeks ago at the Portugal Masters and finished 16th at the BMW last year.
Pablo Larrazabal, at 50/1 with Ladbrokes, has finished inside the top 17 in his last three tournaments and played some fine golf along the way. He ranks 28th in Greens in Regulation and 12th in Putts per Round – something he’s traditionally struggled with.
Julien Quesne, at 100/1 with Ladbrokes, is well priced given his recent form. He’s notched a victory and two other top-20 starts in his last four starts and hasn’t shot over par in his last 16 rounds.
