The two-time Masters champion takes in some unorthodox practice routines under floodlights in China
Bubba Watson hits the night lights in China…
.. quite literally
When he was out in China to compete in the inaugural Shenzhen International tournament, Bubba Watson took in some on-course practice at the club. Nowt unusual with that – all pros tend to do it before a tournament.
But Bubba played did some of his practising at night.
Also rather than play the Neil Haworth-designed championship course at Genzon Golf Club, which was the venue for the Shenzhen International as well as last year’s Volvo China Open, he headed to the other course – the B course as it is imaginatively known.
But this make sense if you are going to play at night for as Bubba explains its “the one with the lights.”
The practice was not all serious though, as a couple of videos he posted shows. In one he almost gave a new meaning to then phrase about shooting the lights out. He calls it his ringydingy shot. And why wouldn’t you?
All this after-hours ahem practice did not do the two-time Masters champion much good in the tournament itself. He finished tied in 29th at five under in a tournament won by Kiradech Aphibarnrat’s 12-under score.
Maybe it was just played at the wrong time of the day for Bubba?
