Korea's Han Chang-won has won the Asian Amateur Championship at Mission Hills earning a place at next year's Masters in the process.

The 17-year-old led by two shots overnight and his final-round 70 was more than enough to seal victory, with playing partner and fellow Korean Eric Chun five shots back in second - the latter only managing a 73 on Sunday.

Three players - Korea's Kim Meen-whee, Peter Spearman-Burn of New Zealand and Jordan Sherratt from Australia - shared third on 282, with Australia's Matthew Giles sixth, one shot further back.

Han revealed his delighted, saying: "I was very nevous towards the end. I have to admit that it was the thought of playing in the Masters that made me nervous." Despite that the teenager still had time to look ahead to the April showpiece, adding: "I would like to play with KJ Choi or Tiger (Woods) in the Masters."

Meanwhile, Chun can take heart from the fact his second spot earns him a crack at qualifying for the Open Championship as both he and victorious Han go into the final qualifying stage for St Andrews.

"Earlier this year I got to the final stage of qualifying for the US Open," said Chun. "I was leading by two shots with three holes to play and finished bogey, par, bogey and went into a play-off and lost. That is a bad memory, so I am hoping to get a little payback."
