London-based real estate and investment management company Curzon Global Partners IXIS AEW held a charity golf day at Wentworth recently, and Ian Woosnam and Helen Alfredsson were the guests of honour as a large total was raised for the children's sporting charity 'Get Kids Going'.
'Get Kids Going' is a national charity that helps young and disabled children participate in sports, and the £20,000 raised by the 160-strong field of amateur golfers will no doubt have a large impact.
Woosnam, who leads Europe into battle with the USA in the Ryder Cup in Ireland in September, and Alfredsson, who is the European captain for the 2007 Solheim Cup also against the USA, were on hand to give out advice and tips for the field. A 'Beat Woosie and Helen' par 3 challenge was an integral part of the fundraising activities, as was a charity auction and raffle.
Both captains even brought along the respective cups, which added to the specatcle. All parties were delighted with the turnout, funds raised and the spirit of competition on Wentworth's West, East and Executive courses.
"We had a great day at Wentworth," said Curzon Global Partners IXIS AEW chief executive Ric Lewis.
"Helen and Ian were fantastic with our clients and to raise more that £20,000 for the 'Get Kids Going' charity is great news."
