FedEx St Jude Classic: golf betting guide

Our tipster gives his thoughts on the PGA Tour event at the FedEx St Jude Classic

Freddie Jacobson

The PGA Tour is in Memphis, Tennessee this week for the FedEx St. Jude Classic. Dustin Johnson defends the title around the TPC Southwind as the top players complete their final preparations for next week's US Open.

This week's favourites are Phil Mickelson at 14/1, Brandt Snedeker 14/1 and Dustin Johnson at 16/1, all of who are not in their hottest streak of form.

Freddie Jacobson 20/1 with Ladbrokes. Has a huge amount of stats to back up his pick, 3 top tens from the 10 cuts he has made this year and an amazing 8 top 25s. Has nine top 10s from 10 starts at this course. One to pay close attention to.

Russel Henley 25/1 with Ladbrokes. Sits 10th on overall driving stats on the PGA Tour, and although he has never played this course before he hadn't played Memorial before and finished 6th there. Has three top 10s from 10 cuts made this year.

Boo Weekley 33/1 with Ladbrokes. One of our biggest successes this year when we tipped him at 100/1 to win The Crown Plaza Invitational. His ball striking is still second to none and if he can have another good week with his short game then he should compete again.

Robert Karlsson 33/1 with Ladbrokes. Has lost in play-offs in 2010 and 2011 at this course, has struggled to have a good tournament this season for the entire week, however his game seems close to getting to its best.

Roberto Castro 125/1 with Ladbrokes. Good odds for a man who has 5 top 25s from 10 cuts made this season and is on the back of 5 made cuts in a row. Finished Top 30 here last season and with stats which include being 15th in accuracy off the tee and 29th in scrambling, he could have a big week here.

FedEx St Jude Classic advised bets:

3pts each way on Freddie Jacobson at 20/1 with Ladbrokes 3pts each way on Russel Henley at 25/1 with Ladbrokes 2pts each way on Boo Weekley at 33/1 with Ladbrokes 2pts each way on Robert Karlsson at 33/1 with Ladbrokes 1pts each way on Roberto Castro at 125/1 with Ladbrokes
