Golf Betting guide: St Jude Classic and Nordea Masters

Take a look at out tipster's picks for the FedEx St Jude Classic on the PGA Tour and the Nordea Masters on the European Tour

Graeme McDowell is tipped this week

Hopefully some of you got on the back of Tiger Woods following my tip to pick the 14-time Major winner at a generous 14/1 at last week's Memorial Tournament.

It means I have now picked two winners from the last three weeks, so lets hope this form can continue.

Nordea Masters

Some of you will have been caught on the hop by the early start of this event. Brought forward to today (Wednesday) so that those competing in the US Open get an extra day's rest.

Played at the monster which is Bro Hof Slott in Sweden, you have to be able to hit it long and straight to have any chance.

Nordea Masters advised bets

Rafael Cabrera Bello

at 20/1 with Ladbrokes The Spaniard is playing well and is striking the ball magnificently of late. Has not missed a cut this season and has had three top 10s. Played well in the Volvo Match Play Championship at Finca Cortesin which also suits long hitters.

Lloyd Saltman

at 100/1 with Ladbrokes Some of you may be surprised to hear that the Scot is currently leading the stas for driving distance on the European Tour. Has not had a terrible year and in a field like this where several big names are missing, he could do well. Available at a very large price so a simple each way bet.

Thorbjorn Olesen

at 20/1 with Ladbrokes The talented Dane has had four top tens this season, although he missed the cut here last season. He has struggled recently to put four good rounds together back to back, but when he plays well he will always end up near the top 10.

Pablo Larrazabal

at 33/1 with Ladbrokes The talented Spaniard has had a couple of top 10s this season and has the game to challenge this weekend. If his putter is hot this weekend then expect him to be competing on Sunday.

Jeev Milkha Singh

at 66/1 with Ladbrokes A 75 in the final round last year still left him in 6th place and has shown glimpses in recent weeks that he is due a really good week. At this price he is well worth a punt.

Fedex St Jude Classic Played at TPC Southwind, it is one of the toughest tests on the Tour with the par being only 70 yet the yardage is some 7,200 yards. Scoring can be very high at times here, with players who can grit it out and save par doing better than those who go all out for birdies.

Fedex St Jude Classic advised bets

Graeme McDowell

at 20/1 with Ladbrokes The former US Open champion has the exact attributes needed to get round this course in one piece. His odds are not that generous but he should be able to keep away from catastrophic failure on single holes.

Robert Karlsson at 25/1 with Ladbrokes Has finished runner up here the last two years, really enjoys playing this course, obviously, and knows how to grind it out. Scored very consistently here last season with a 66, 65, 68, 68 before losing in a play-off.

Robert Garrigus at 50/1 with Ladbrokes Has the distance to deal with the course's length, and when he makes a cut he usually contends. A tied 3rd at last year's US Open shows he is capable of surviving tough courses.

Kyle Reifers at 150/1 with Ladbrokes Who? you may ask. Well he has may seven consecutive cuts including a couple of top 25s. The exact person who could charge out of the pack at a huge price.

Padraig Harrington

at 33/1 with Ladbrokes Is tied 16th in scoring average on the PGA Tour this season at 70.17. Has the sheer grit needed to survive this course, and finished last season's tournament with a fine 68.
