Golf Monthly's week that was

Golf Monthly review a busy seven days both inside and outside the office, including a week that has seen tensions ease with the May issue going to press. Cue weekend golf.

The last seven days have been hectic in the GM Towers, not least because of some final touches to the May issue. However, a busy week on Tour – where Phil Mickelson triumphed at the WGC-CA Championship – has meant the odd pair of eyes tracking events for dream team purposes.

Some good weather served as the perfect opportunity to present our Top 20 golf courses in continental Europe. For good measure, we reviewed Denmark – more specifically, the Lubker Resort.

In this week’s equipment guide we looked at some new drivers currently on the market, following last week’s review of drivers that can be purchased for under £250. Plus, there were plenty more reviews, galleries and reader blogs to browse if you were on the verge of purchasing a new piece of gear.

On the Golf Monthly Forum, things are taking shape with regards to a Forum/Reader event this summer at The Belfry. Early interest suggests that the former Ryder Cup venue is in for another epic.

Elsewhere, this week’s betting focused on the Transitions Championship on the PGA Tour with The Race to Dubai’s Madeira Islands Open BPI - Portugal being a much harder event to predict.

The weekly quiz attracted a number of entries, although not as many as the previous week. Has GM expert Jezz Ellwood gone too far with the level of difficulty? Make sure you keep an eye on all our competitions, as there are some great prizes to be won.

Finally, thanks to those who have started to follow the GM team on twitter. That’s right, you can now follow Golf Monthly on twitter, not just Facebook. Failing that, just get involved with all the chat on the Golf Monthly Forum. It’s all good fun.

We’ll have more next week when there will be yet more bragging rights after a weekend round at Temple. After a tense couple of weeks there could be fireworks.

Have a good weekend.
