English golfer Jamie Abbott has turned professional and signed a long-term contract with sports management agency, 4SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT.

The exciting 23-year-old has revealed that he's signed an exclusive representation contract with the leading Swiss sports management agency.

Abbott, who made his decision to turn professional

two weeks ago, made an impressive start to his career with a second-place finish at his very first EuroPro Tour event,

the 2010 Veka Open at DeVere Slaley Hall.

The Suffolk golfer has represented England both as a junior and senior player, and produced a memorable performance at Kingsbarns to come through a four-man play-off and qualify for the Open Championship at St Andrews.

Abbott was also a member of the winning England team at this year's Home Internationals, where he recorded the highest winning singles margin with a 6&4 victory.

Twice a runner up in 2009 at both the Lagonda Trophy and the Portuguese Amateur, Jamie missed out on Tour School qualification last year having lost in a play-off during stage two.

On signing with 4SPORTS, Abbott said: "I am really pleased to be signing with 4SPORTS and look forward to launching my professional career with them.

"They have a great stable of golfers and I have been impressed with their professional and personable approach to management."
