European Tour player, Matt Southgate, 25, has found his form on the TP Tour, winning the past two 18 hole tournaments by a margin of four shots and five shots, which is unprecedented on the TP Tour.

The Essex based professional, from Thorpe Hall Golf Club, shot a round of 65 at Royal St George’s to win on April 24.

Without the bogey on the 18th, Southgate would have emulated Greg Norman’s final round 64 in the 1993 Open.

A confident Southgate then went on to shoot an incredible round of 62 at Worplesdon, containing six birdies and two eagles on May 1 beating Adam Gee.

With this tremendous run, Southgate is now in fourth position in the TP Order of Merit, behind new leader Ben Storey from Woburn.

The TP Tour holds over 90 events per year staged at different world class golf courses, including historic Major Championship venues such as Royal St George’s where Southgate celebrated his April win.

The TP tour is open to all professionals and consists of 18 Hole events, 36 Hole events and Pro Ams.

The next event takes place tomorrow, May 22, with The Robin Hood Farmfoods Open.
