Knost wins Inaugural McCormack Medal
Colt Knost of Pilot Point, Texas, is the inaugural winner of the Mark McCormack Medal. As the No 1 player in the R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking at the end of Week 38, Knost is the winner of the award for 2007. He has enjoyed a successful summer in the amateur game, winning both the US Amateur Public Links Championship and the US Amateur Championship this year.
Knost was part of the winning United States Walker Cup team at Royal County Down, where he was the only player to go without a defeat in all four matches
The Mark H McCormack Medal was introduced earlier this year to recognise Amateur Golf?s leading players.
London Air Ambulance Annual Charity Golf Challenge
London Air Ambulance is inviting golfing enthusiasts to their annual charity golf challenge at Foxhills Club & Resort in Surrey on Monday 1st October.

Men Vs Women
On Sunday September 23rd, four of the UK?s leading golfers swung by The Luffenham Heath Golf Club in Rutland, for a thrilling battle of the sexes fourball match, featuring top class shot-making and numerous birdies, the match went all the way to the 18th hole and ended up a 1-up victory to the men who finished with a better-ball score of 64 (six-under par) to the women?s 65.
The battle of the sexes thriller was between Britain?s most successful amateur golfer Gary Wolstenholme, from Leicestershire, and England international Stephen Lewton who took on Ladies European Tour Winner Rebecca Hudson and English women?s international Emma Duggleby around a newly extended and upgraded course, ranked among the UK?s top 120 courses.
UK Celebrities help Glendales Charity Cause
Glendales Golf charity day was hosted by former England Rugby star, Tim Stimpson at Richmond Park Golf Course on 14th September raising 5,000 for UK children?s charity Sparks.
Tim Stimpson captained a team of celebrities around an 18-hole golf course along with comedian Joe Goodman and former cricketer Roger Tolchard.
Fourteen teams took part in the day and funds were raised through team entry fees and a charity raffle at the event.
All proceeds from the event went to Glendale Golf?s official charity, Sparks, who fund pioneering research that impacts the life of babies and children. Their aim is to enable all babies to be born healthy and stay healthy. Sparks goal is to fund vital research into different areas affecting babies throughout the UK.
The ?Master? of all caddying experiences
Masters and Ryder Cup legend, Ian Woosnam, is offering a once in a lifetime chance for one lucky individual to caddy for him on the Par 3 course at The 2008 Masters in Augusta.
