Bernd Wiesberger and Martin Kaymer are the favourites in Portugal this week.

Portugal Masters Betting Tips

The European Tour is at the Portugal Masters this week, with Alexander Levy set to defend the title he won last year.

Levy won over just 36 holes in 2014 because of inclement weather, so a different test will lie in store for him this year at the Oceanico Victoria GC.

Martin Kaymer is also in the field and will be aiming to claim his first win of the year after coming so close at the Italian Open recently – Rikard Karlberg beat him in a play-off.

English players traditionally do well at this event, with four of the eight winners of the tournament coming from England. Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrell Hatton and Chris Wood all did well at Woburn last weekend and will surely be in contention this week.

The favourites are Bernd Wiesberger (9/1 at Betfair) and Kaymer (10/1 at Bet365).

GM Tipster’s advised betting tips

Chris Wood – 20/1 at SkyBet. The Lyoness Open winner has two top 10 finishes in his last two tournaments. Last year he finished T7 at this event, so the omens are looking good for the Bristolian.

Soren Kjeldsen – 22/1 at Unibet. Kjeldsen finished T2 at the British Masters last weekend and before that had consecutive T9 finishes. The Dane also has a win to his name this year at the Irish Open, so the chances of him adding another W to his 2015 schedule look possible.

Rafa Cabrera-Bello – 55/1 at Bet365. The Spaniard enjoyed a strong period between the Irish Open and the French Open in which he recorded three top 5 finishes in five events. He’s gone off the boil a little recently, but, with his positive approach, it would be no surprise to see him score well in Portugal.

Kristoffer Broberg – 50/1 at Totesport. Since June, Broberg has had some excellent results dotted around his schedule, including T6 at the Lyoness Open and T2 at Made in Denmark. After finishing T17 at the British Masters, he could follow it up with yet another strong posting.
