Ram Tour Grind X & PING Tour-W
Golf Monthly takes a look at 15 of the wedges on the market, including the Wilson Staff TW9, Mizuno MP-T10, Snake Eyes 685BX and Cleveland CG15
Ram Tour Grind X wedge, £40
Key technology: A traditional, sleek head is designed to improve playability and allows the face to be opened up for improved versatility. A new groove design helps to improve distance and spin control.
A traditional design with subtle graphics and a good head shape. It offered a decent level of control and is available at a very reasonable price.
PING Tour-W, £90
Key technology: A tungsten weight in the toe of the club, small cavity and tuning port are all combined to give added stability on any length of shot. A compact teardrop head helps give added control on delicate chip shots.
While the technology gives plenty of confidence-inspiring forgiveness on full shots, it is around the greens that this really impresses. Traditionalists may prefer a thinner topline than is on offer here.
