Steve Webster signs new Wilson Staff deal
Wilson Staff has announced Steve Webster has signed a new contract to exclusively play the Wilson Staff FG Tour Irons
Englishman and two-time European Tour winner Steve Webster has signed a new contract with Major-winning brand Wilson Staff.
Webster, who began playing with the Wilson Staff FG Tour Irons last year will now play exclusively with the irons, and have Wilson Staff branding emblazoned on his cap. He will also carry the Wilson Pro Tour bag, which accompanied Padraig Harrington during his three Major victories.
Webster has noticed the performance benefits of the clubs, which are also played by current Andalucian Open champion Paul Lawrie. Speaking of the FG Tour Irons, Webster said: "The distance control on the irons is amazingly consistent and I had lots of feel off the clubface for shot making."
Doug Wright, Business Director for Europe at Wilson Golf, added: "We are delighted to have another top quality player in Steve committing to Wilson Staff at a time when the brand's presence on tour is growing stronger."
Webster's Tour victories include the Italian Open in 2005, and the inaugural Portugal Masters in 2007. Other Tour players that have chosen Wilson Staff include: 1999 Open Champion Paul Lawrie, three-time Major winner Harrington, and PGA Tour favorites Kevin Streelman and Ricky Barnes.
