This summer welcomes the launch of the ‘British Airways Pairs Championship in Association with Sandals’, a new amateur golf competition to be played at some of the very best courses and supported by Golf Monthly.
The event has received support from British Airways, Sandals Resorts, The Bahamas Tourist Office, TAG Heuer, Cleveland Golf, Srixon Sports, Nikon Golf, The Daily Telegraph and SkySports.com.
The ‘Best 1 from 2 scores’ handicap tournament will see one winning pair from each of five UK events progress through to the final held at the five-star Sandals Emerald Bay resort in the Bahamas in January 2012.
The prize includes flights with British Airways, transfers, luxurious accommodation, golf, unlimited gourmet food and drinks at the resort’s wide range of restaurants and bars and, of course, the two-round grand final.
Karl Thompson, Managing Director of Unique Vacations, said: “We’re expecting a hugely competitive field but to the winners come the spoils – the trip of a lifetime.”
“The newly-opened Sandals Emerald Bay brings unprecedented luxury to the easy-going rhythms of the Bahamian Out Islands and comes complete with a Greg Norman-designed championship golf course, named among the best in the Caribbean.
