The 2007 Quinn Direct British Masters visits The Belfry for the second consecutive year, from September 20-23, with the historic course, famous for hosting four Ryder Cup matches, all set to produce a tournament packed full of excitement.

The British Masters has a long history of nailbiting finishes ? Thomas Björn defeated David Howell in a three-way play-off in 2005 while Justin Rose clung on to hold Ian Poulter off in a thrilling finish in 2002 ? and a hugely impressive list of past winners. Colin Montgomerie, Ian Woosnam, Christy O?Connor Junior and Seve Ballesteros are just a few of those on the roll of honour.

World number 54 Johan Edfors is itching to defend his title around the world famous Brabazon Course. ?2006 was an incredible year for me and winning the Quinn Direct British Masters at The Belfry was a major highlight. I know that the competition will be tough this year,? said the Swede.

With a prize fund of £1.8 million, the likes of Paul Casey, Padraig Harrington and Darren Clarke are likely to be in the hunt and it?s a prospect that has event promoters, International Sports Management (ISM), salivating. ?I have no doubt that with a new date and fantastic venue in The Belfry, the scene is set for a British Masters tournament that will attract Europe?s finest golfers and provide a great spectacle for professionals and spectators alike,? says Andrew ?Chubby? Chandler, managing director of ISM.
