The Tour Championship advised golf bets

Paul Krishnamurty is away this week, so Golf Monthly sub editor Tom Clarke has created his own betting guide for this week’s Tour Championship

Golf betting guide: Sean O'Hair 25/1 to win Tour Championship at East Lake

Sean O'Hair started the year in superb form with a win at the Quail Hollow Championship. However in recent months his form has started to dip, but he looks to be well on the way to recovering with an 8th at Deutsche Bank Championship and 4th at the BMW Championship. If his tee-to-green game is anything like it can be he will be a definite challenger.

One of the players who looks like having some great value is Hunter Mahon, he has had six top tens but only one runner-up spot. In a season where he has been involved heavily on the final day on numerous occasions, we believe that this could be his tournament. Ranked 8th for total driving and 14th for GIR, he is someone whose game should suit the course.

Kevin Na is one of the surprise packages of the PGA Tour this year as he has had nine top-ten finishes. His world ranking his climbed some 170 places to 58. He has a solid short game, with his putting and sand save stats being very impressive. On a course where, due to its length, players will regularly miss greens, play around the short grass will certainly be very important.

John Senden is our outside bet for the weekend, but listen to these stats: he is 38th in driving distance, and 1st (yes 1st) in GIR. He has the perfect game for the course, and if he can get onto the greens while others are struggling then the odds he has been given could be very long. Remember, this is only a 30-man field and Senden has had five top tens already this year.
