Tiger Woods and Steve Williams split
After 12 years together, Tiger Woods and caddie Steve Williams have parted company
Former world number one Tiger Woods has parted company with long-standing caddie Steve Williams after working together since 1999.
Woods, who is currently injured and missed last week's Open because of the injury, made the announcement on his official website.
Woods stated; "I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it's time for a change.
Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future."
Woods, 35, won 13 of his 14 majors with Williams, after he brought him in to replace his only other full-time caddie, Mike Cowan.
The New Zealander, who will now work with Australian Adam Scott, said;
"Following the completion of the AT&T National I am no longer caddying for Tiger after he informed me that he needed to make a change. After 13 years of loyal service needless to say this came as a shock."
