Turkish Airlines Open: golf betting guide

The penultimate event of the European Tour Finals Series, the inaugural Turkish Airlines Open, gets underway this week at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal in Antalya.

A number of the world's best players will be looking to boost their Race to Dubai chances in a tournament with a prize fund of more than €5,000,000.

The 78-strong field is headlined by world number one Tiger Woods, but the likes of Justin Rose, Charl Schwartzel, Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter are all taking part.

Woods is the 4/1 favourite with Ladbrokes, but there is much better value on offer. Rose, at 10/1 with Ladbrokes, will take a fair share of the outright market this week. The Englishman is one of the game's most consistent performers and he comes into the tournament off the back of a top five at last week's WGC-HSBC Champions. He also triumphed in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final last year, defeating Woods and Westwood en route to victory.

Louis Oosthuizen, at 33/1 Ladbrokes, has shown some encouraging signs of late. The South African has endured an injury-hit season, but he played well at the Presidents Cup and produced four sub-par rounds at the WGC-HSBC Champions to secure a top-15 finish. He's a class act and he's due some good fortune after a troublesome season.

Thomas Bjorn, at 50/1 with Ladbrokes, has been a picture of consistency this season. He won the Omega European Masters in August and finished second in consecutive weeks at the Lyoness and BMW International Opens. He's currently 8th in the Race to Dubai and he'll be confident after a fifth-place finish at the BMW Masters.

Marcel Siem, at 100/1 with Ladbrokes, has been quiet since his victory at the Trophee Hassan in April, but I think a return to form is imminent. He played well at the Portugal Masters and responded admirably to an opening 81 at the BMW Masters. He'll also need a decent week to confirm his place in the season-ending DP World Tour Championship. Turkish Airlines Open advised bets:

4pts each way on Justin Rose at 10/1 with Ladbrokes 2pts each way on Louis Oosthuizen at 33/1 with Ladbrokes 2pts each way on Thomas Bjorn at 50/1 with Ladbrokes 1pts each way on Marcel Siem at 100/1 with Ladbrokes
