Volvo China Open golf betting guide

Volvo China Open golf betting guide. Find out who we are tipping this week in China, where Ian Poulter and Peter Hanson head the betting

Peter Hanson

Last week at the Malaysian Open, Rafael Cabrera-Bello finished tied third and gave us some healthy returns at 40/1. The bookies don't seem to have got the message that the Spaniard is in decent form this season and you can get him at 33/1 with Ladbrokes this week. That was an easy selection for us on a man who looks destined to win lots of tournaments.

Ian Poulter and Peter Hanson head the betting at 14/1 for the Volvo China Open. Poulter looked back in the zone at Augusta and we actually feel 14/1 is a decent price for the Englishman as when he's in form he'll normally give you a good run for your money. He's feeling comfortable on and off the course, so we hear. Normally we'd be happy backing him but this week's course is a monster at approximately 7,600 yards and Poulter isn't the longest on tour, so is a touch vulnerable. We may regret that decision.

Binhai Lake Golf Club hosts this year's Volvo China Open. The Pete Dye-designed beast is going to be a huge challenge so we're backing the big hitters. That can be a risk if the accuracy and short games aren't up to much but defending champion Nicolas Colsaerts does have all the credentials and is 16/1 with Ladbrokes.

Hanson also hits a good ball and is no slouch off the tee. Odds of 14/1 aren't too bad on a man who didn't do much wrong on the final day of the Masters. His putting was tentative but that's understandable given Augusta on a Sunday is a real pressure cooker.

That's our lot this week. If you fancy having a golf bet visit Ladbrokes and claim up to £50 in free bets. You can do so by clicking on the betting banner below. Good luck!
