Tournament: The Barclays Scottish Open
Course: Loch Lomond
Prize fund: £3,000,000 Winner: £500,000
Course details: Par 71 7,139 yards. The Tom Weiskopf/Jay Morrish-designed course is always presented in immaculate condition. Framed by towering pines and with views of Loch Lomond and the surrounding mountains, it?s quite a setting.
Key Hole: 10th ? a tricky 450-yard par 4 where water is a major factor on the approach. Leave it short or leak it left and a watery grave awaits.

The lowdown: Held the week before the Open Championship, and with a prize fund increased to £3 million, the Scottish Open is one of the most significant events on the 2007 European Tour schedule. The Barclays Scottish Open course is littered with hazards and an abundance of water. The winner will keep the ball away from trouble by plotting his way round and limiting the mistakes. Last year, the golf lived up to the surroundings. Sweden?s Johan Edfors produced a fabulous final round of 63 to tear through the field and claim his third victory of the season.

John Deere Classic preview

Tournament: John Deere Classic
Course: TPC Deere Run
Purse: $4.1 million
Course Details: par 71, 7257 yards. Played at the TPC Deere Run, the course is a design without many man-made features to spoil its 300 acres of rolling hills and beautiful scenery. The tree-lined fairways vary considerably in elevation and are cleverly designed to make the most of the breathtaking views surrounding the Rock River.
Key Holes: The 8th involves a tight fairway where pinpoint accurate shots are needed through a narrow gap in the trees. The 13th hole is probably the easiest on the back nine. However it is quickly followed by a risky and tricky par 4, which sets up a difficult last few holes.

The lowdown: Following John Sendens victory last year, this year?s tournament brings out a strong field considering the events position in the callender. There are 60 players in the field who can move into the Top 30 with a win and some contenders can gain a place in the top 15.

The contenders: Zach Johnson, Bubba Watson, Jeff Quinney
