Michelle Wie shot a majestic round of 66 ? six under par ? to grab a share of the lead at the Evian Masters in France yesterday.

Mexico?s Loreana Ochoa and Australia?s Karrie Webb joined the teenage sensation at the top of the leaderboard after their rounds of 69 and 68 respectively.

Speaking after her round, Wie said: ?I thought I played very solid today. I made some good pars and I feel a lot better than yesterday. I still feel like I left a lot of shots out there, but overall my game feels good. Hopefully, I will be able to maintain it.?

The day could have been even better for the Hawaiian if she hadn?t spurned a simple birdie putt on the par four 13th.

England?s Karen Stupples also enjoyed a good round, matching Wie?s total of 66 to make amends for a poor opening round of 78. She goes into her third round nine strokes of the lead as a result.

Former champion Laura Davies, however, remains in contention after her steady round of 71, currently four strokes back on five under par.

First round leader Shani Waugh is currently five under, one stroke behind defending champion Paula Creamer and Annika Sorenstam.
