Woosnam Shuffles His Pack
With day two of practice finally underway at the K Club, European Ryder Cup skipper Ian Woosnam has re-jigged his pairings as he seeks the right formula.
European Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam made several changes to his pairings ahead of the second practice day at the K Club, which was delayed for several hours due to bad weather. The Europeans were meant to begin their practice at 09:00 BST, but high winds and rain meant they were forced to wait until 12:00.
Woosnam (pictured) kept Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood together after day one's practice session, but all of the other squad members were given new partners when they emerged just before noon.
On day one Woosnam had paired up several compatriots, making mini teams from England, Sweden, Spain and Ireland. Woosnam has abandoned this idea today, with the exception of English pair Paul Casey and David Howell, as he shuffles his pack ahead of Friday's crucial opening fourballs and fourballs.
EUROPEAN PRACTICE PAIRINGS - DAY TWO
Group 1 - J-M Olazabal and R Karlsson, S Garcia and L Donald
Group 2 - D Clarke and L Westwood, P Casey and D Howell
Group 3 - P Harrington and C Montgomerie, H Stenson and P McGinley
