A guide to the third hole of the Rio Olympic Golf Course ahead of the 2016 Olympics in August
Rio Olympic Golf Course Hole by Hole: Hole 3
Hole 3 – Par 4 – 394 yards
As long as you put your tee shot in the right area on the third it should offer a very good birdie chance.
At only 394-yards most players will be hitting some sort of gap wedge into the green, whilst longer hitters could be getting very close to the putting surface.
Water comes into play for those that pull their tee shots or are going for the green from the tee.
The green is where all the fun begins.
If you miss the three greenside bunkers – two on the right and one running the length of the left hand side – you then have to negotiate the many different green complexes.
Some of the pin placements here can be evil and could leave players three or four putting – instead of walking off with a birdie.
A tricky hole that, if played well, can wield a birdie, but you must put your ball in the correct position.
