Visually I preferred the 3-wood as the utility's angular shape seemed oddly accentuated by its smaller size. But the latter edged it for performance, proving easy to flight and easy to hit dead-straight. As is often the case for me, the 3-wood worked best off a tee. But at these prices, both represent very good value for those willing to experiment on the shape front

Hippo is augmenting its Hex line-up with these new fairway wood and utility models.
