Golf Monthly Verdict

Unlike the majority of modern utilities, Royal Collection has opted for square lines and a strong all-black view at address. The result is that it feels hard to hit, almost like a straight-faced long iron. To its credit however, the forgiveness levels are good enough to attract mid-handicappers while better players will enjoy the piercing ball flight.

The combination of a square face and compact head should make this a popular choice for the better player. However, by moving the centre of gravity deeper in the head and increasing the size of the sweetspot, this utility should have a broader appeal too.
