The Ryder Cup 2018 will be the 42nd to take place.

Twelve man teams from Europe and USA will meet at Le Golf National, Paris, France to battle it out over three days of dramatic matchplay golf.

The Course – Le Golf National

The 42nd Ryder Cup is being played at Le Golf National over the Albatros Course, located just South-West of Paris, France.

The course measures 7,249 yards  with a par of 71, the course has a huge amount of water hazards, which could come into play especially over the closing holes.

The last time Le Golf National hosted a tournament was in June 2018 where Alex Noren won the Open de France –  Swede Noren will be in the European Team.

The Home Captain chooses fourballs or foursomes first on Thursday and Friday.

First team to get 14 1/2 points wins the Ryder Cup – if scores are level at 14 points a side then USA will win as they won the 2016 Ryder Cup

The Players

Each team consists of 12 players – 8 who have qualified automatically and each Captain gets 4 picks. The captain picks the players who they want to represent their team for each match.

Europe – Thomas Bjorn from Denmark captains his first team, he has vice captains in the form of Padraig Harrington, Luke Donald, Lee Westwood,  Robert Karlsson, Graeme McDowell and Paul Lawrie.

USA – Jim Furyk captains the USA, again the first time he has done so, he has plenty of experience having played in 9 Ryder Cups. His vice captains are Davis Love III, Steve Stricker, Zach Johnson, David Duval and Matt Kuchar.
