Kuchar defeated fellow countryman Hunter Mahan by a 2&1 margin, the man who knocked him out of the quarter-finals the previous year

His latest PGA Tour victory came back in 2013-14 season in dramatic fashion at the RBC Heritage. After three-putting from four yards on the 17th and dropping a shot he bounced back in superb style. Kuchar managed to hole out from the greenside bunker on the 18th for birdie, ensuring he finished 11-under-par and one shot ahead of Luke Donald.

In the 2014-15 season, Kuchar went through his first season in four years without a win. His season’s highlight was making 24 out of 25 cuts, with his best finish coming at the Humana Challenge where he ended tied second.

In 2014, he made the United States Ryder Cup team for a third consecutive occasion and was picked as a vice captain but he has not had the best success for his country, losing on all three occasions.

America’s captain at the 2016 Ryder Cup, Davis Love III, has named Kuchar as a vice-captain once again, alongside Tom Lehman, Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk at the Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.
