In 2004, Casey joined the PGA Tour in April as a Special Temporary Member and earned privileges for the 2005 season through making the 2004 Ryder Cup team.

He also managed to finish sixth at his first appearance at the US Masters. He went into the final round a shot behind co-leaders Phil Mickelson and Chris DiMarco but shot a disappointing 74.

Casey also finished third at the Open Championship in 2010. He finished tied third with Henrik Stenson on 8-under-par, falling 8 shots short of the impressive Louis Oosthuizen at St. Andrews.

In 2011, Casey failed to finish inside the top 125 of the official money list for the first time in four years.

After three seasons without finishing in the top 10, Casey posted a career-high eight top ten performances, finishing runner up on two occasions both via play-off defeats in the 2014/15 season.

Casey has appeared in the 2004, 2006 and 2008 Ryder Cup. He made his debut at Oakland Hills where he picked up one point from two matches. He played a significant role at the K Club in 2006, winning three out of four points as Europe won by a huge margin of 18½ to 9½. In 2008, Casey was picked as a wildcard by captain Nick Faldo.

A personal highlight of Casey’s must be his hole in one at 14th hole at the K Club to seal a 5&4 victory over US pair Stewart Cink and Zach Johnson. It was only the fifth hole in one in Ryder Cup history and the first since Englishman Howard Clark’s in 1995.
