A look at the players who have qualified to play at the 2015 Open Championship at St Andrews By Jac de Wet

Open 2015 players: Australasia

The standout Australasian players in this years Open tournament are Australians Jason Day (8th in the world rankings) and also Adam Scott (ranked 11th in the world rankings).

Day has had a successful past few years in the US Open, managing to finish in the top 10 for the past 3 years. However he’s been less successful in the Open Championship only managing to get a position of 30th as his best finish.

Adam Scott on the other hand has a much more successful history having achieved a top 5 position for the last three years in the Championship. In 2012 Scott achieved his highest Open place of 2nd just behind Ernie Els and the following year he won the Masters after he’d come in the top 10 the two years before that.

Take a look at our video of the favourites for the 2015 Open

This year he’s tied 4th place in the US Open, and managed a top 40 spot in the Masters so it looks promising for his chances in the Open next week with lots of positive results having been achieved in the past 5 years.
