A guide to the first hole on the Old Course at Royal Troon ahead of the 145th Open Championship
Royal Troon Golf Club Hole by Hole: Hole 1
Hole 1 – Par 4 – 367 yards
The first at Troon is named ‘Seal’.
It’s a fairly simple opening hole, with bunkers left and right to avoid off the tee.
Most will hit long irons off this tee which will leave them with a wedge in to this ever-so-slightly raised green which is guarded short-left and right by pot bunkers.
